This highly original tale is inspired by the authors exposure and interest around indigenous culture all over the world and, in particular, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people of Australia. Although essentially written as a book for children it handles interesting issues which have appeal for adults. For example, the absent father, the rites of passage for a boy into manhood, wisdom that can be found in indigenous cultures and a healthy respect for the earth.
